[Storybooks] [Gift Sets] [Teaching Manuals] [Dr. Ron] [Upcoming Events]
Originally a bedtime story for his children, Dr. Ron Madison has turned his tales of the little boy whose head was too big to fit in his bed into a series of delightful children's books.
Dr. Ron writes rhyming children's books that both entertain and teach self-esteem and moral values, such as friendship, compassion, appreciating diversity and love. The books are based on an original character, Ned, and his friends- a teddy bear, his dog and a crow.
Dr. Ron also has used his poetry style to teach young children safety lessons. His books are being used in many elementary schools, as books for emergent readers, and by parents and teachers to entertain and teach values to young children. He has been a guest author at elementary schools and day care centers in Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. A professional civil engineer who holds a PhD from Lehigh University, Dr. Ron began his career as a writer of children's books in 1995. Learn more about Dr. Ron and upcoming events with Ned! Ned and the Gift of Life Blood is precious, and sharing it through donations is a service almost anyone can provide. Helping children (and adults) appreciate how important blood is to people is the purpose of Ned and the Gift of Life. In Ned and the Gift of Life, Ned learns from friends, family and doctors about how blood saves lives, how the circulatory system works and how easy it is to give blood. Written in rhyme, the book takes Ned to see his Mom donate blood, makes him aware of two friends whose illnesses require that they receive blood, and learns how critical to healing blood is when an accident hurts an athlete.
Produced in conjunction with the Greater Alleghenies Region of the American Red Cross Blood Services in Pennsylvania, Ned and the Gift of Life is an excellent way to explain how blood works, and why giving it to others is truly a gift of life.
